Our Weekend

Well, this weekend had some highs and lows to it. We just got called to be our ward's Activity Commitee Chair people. We've been in the Activity Committee for some time now, so when our chair people moved it was no big surprise. This weekend was our ward's camp-out. We thought it was going to turn into a disaster and we were way stressed because most of our committee couldn't come. But in the end everything turned out pretty good. Thanks to people in the ward that could sense our stress and helped us! One lesson learned, we bought way too much food. We counted about 40 people would sleep overnight and eat breakfast, only 8 people ate breakfast. So we have hash browns, eggs, and orange juice coming out of our ears.

Later that night McKay and I took a leisurely walk around BYU's campus. McKay wanted to see where his classes were located. After we were going to go play tennis after, so I wore my cute tennis skirt. I got a lot of weird looks walking around the campus from people. I'm thinking they were jealous that I look so good in it, JK!

Our church has changed times now, instead of being at 12:30, we attend church at 2:30! When it comes to winter when we get out it will be dark! That will be a way weird feeling. Now our Sunday mornings consist of sleeping in, eating a big breakfast, and getting our home and visiting teaching done.

Today, my little cousin is going to be ordained a deacon. My Uncle and Aunt are having a party at their house tonight. That should be way fun to see family again.

We have a new addition to the Craig Family

Her name is Molly and she's a Morkie. It's a Yorkshire Terrior and a Maltise mix. She's about 3 pounds and will only get to 5 pounds.

My Mother was the one that sought ofter this dog. I tell my Mom that she's a Paris Hilton now, because she wanted a dog that she could carry with her in her purse. You rock Mom! Molly is so cute, I want a pet so bad. I feel that if I get a pet first then motherhood won't be as hard.

Tomorrow is Labor Day, and I'm thinking that McKay and I are going to go play at the Scera Pool in Orem. If you haven't been there, it's so much fun. They have cool slides, cool kiddie toys to play in, and no crypto! Yah!

This isn't Scera Pool, I just thought it was a cool looking pool. I wish this is what Scera Pool looked like.

First Day of School

I love the first day of school. I love seeing familiar old faces and meeting new people. I love walking down the halls and seeing the nervous freshman students. It's electrifying. I love the social part and of course the learning part too. I'm glad to be back in school.

Ode to Jessica

My one my oldest and dearest friends got married this weekend. I felt honored and lucky to witness the ceremony which took place in the Salt Lake Temple. Jessica and I have a long past. We met in a very unfortunate way in the 1st grade.

It was my 5th Birthday and for show n' tell I brought this stuffed kittie that made purring sounds when you squeeze it's tummy. I was so excited about showing it to everyone and I loved that cat. It was recess and I put it in my cubby hole so it wouldn't get dirty. When I got back from a rambunctious recess I went to my cubby hole and it was gone! I was ballistic and started to cry. I remember my teacher had to call my mom to tell her what happened. I remember feeling so sad that my cat was gone! That next day I went to school and this girl Jessica who was in my class came up to me with my teacher. My teacher told me that Jessica was jealous of my cat when I showed it during show n' tell and so she took it out of my cubby hole during recess. Jessica said that she was sorry, and we went out to recess and played. We've been very good friends every since then. We often talk about how we met and how Jessica stole my cat. We laugh every time. I love you Jessica. Thanks for being such a good friend and always being there for me when I needed a friend.

Jessica and I in 2007.

I've had some very memorable moments with Jessica. I remember the sleepovers, playing Nintendo, collecting beanie babies together, visiting her old Aunt Beck who had a very strong tongue, petting the farm animals in her backyard, and being random and crazy.

The bridal shower I threw for Jessica.

Me, Taylor, Dana, Katie, and Lauren. These are the girls I hung out in high school.

Old high school friends, were waiting for the bride and groom to come out! I haven't seen these three boys since high school. It was so cool waiting in the marriage waiting room in the temple and see these three friends walk in. It was fun catching up with them.

Jessica and her family.

It was a sweet moment to see these two good people be sealed for all time and eternity. Jessica and Tyler met in high school. Tyler grew up with us. We went to Jr. High and High School with him. He's actually in our stake. They dated for a year and a half in High School, Tyler left on his mission, they were reunited two years later, and got married. They got a little apartment in the Avenues and will be going to school at the U. Good luck you two!

A Craig Mini-Reunion in Heber City

This weekend my dad's side of the family had a mini reunion up at this beautiful cabin in Timber Lakes. Parts of the family couldn't come so that's why it's a mini reunion. McKay and I got up there late Friday night. It seemed like it took forever to get there, but when we finally did it was worth it. This cabin was so stunning. With all of its small charming details. My favorite part of the entire place was the big beautiful master bathroom. It was so spacious and the shower you could have had a party in there!

This is my dream bathroom! Too bad the picture doesn't show the grandeur of the bathroom.

It was 10:30 p.m. when we finally reached there and the entire family hung out on the couch and watched a slide show that was put together for my Grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was so cool to see my Grandparents when they were younger. I have to admit they were total hotties! I got a couple good shots of my Grandpa and I. I love him so much. I love it how he sticks his tongue out at my Grandma when she's lectures us grandchildren. I also love it how he's diabetic and how he doesn't have to take any insulin because he has so much self control. I have to admit I have a sugar addiction, and to have that much control is something worthy of noting.

Hanging out with my Grandpa and my Auntie Caroline.

Lucky for McKay and I we had the honor of sharing a bunkbed with my parents and my lil brother. The bunkbeds were awesome and very roomy, but at 3 a.m. I was awaken by my father snoring. So I got up and slept on the couch. Around 5 a.m. someone had set the alarm on the cell phone, so I woke up walked up stairs and turned it off. A hour later on the couch I could hear people go to the bathroom. I didn't get much sleep.

That next morning we woke up to this

This is my cousin Ethan. He was the lucky one in the family who got cool and crazy hair. Look at how curly it is. He's a cool kid, he even let me take pictures of it.

This is a close up of it, it's the kinkiest hair I've ever seen!

He even let me part it and play with it too.

So Saturday morning comes around and we can't decide on an activity that the whole family wanted to do. We didn't leave the house until 12. We decided that everyone did their own activity to make everyone happy. In the end this became a bummer! I spent my whole day driving back and forth from Park City to Heber and didn't even get to see the Outlet Mall! But I did get to see some of the Park City Parade of Homes. Ehh, wasn't too impressed. Yes, all of those homes are big and beautiful, but they all look the same and felt the same. I like homes that are charming, inviting, homey, and have a lot of color. We saw two homes and by that time it was ready for dinner.

Erin and I in the back of the car, this was at 5 p.m. and we still hadn't done anything that day. We keep ourselves entertained.

Look at this random blow up toy we saw at Park City Mountain Resort. I think its King Kong vs. a dinosaur. If I was a kid, I'd be too scared to go on that.

We ate dinner.

My cousins tried to throw gummy bears off of high landings and catch them in their mouths.

My cousin Landon and his wife Holly. SUU forever!

McKay tried out the swing they had tied up to the timbers.

McKay trying out the hammock. It's funny he told me that he saw my dad do a backwards summersalt while trying to get on the hammock.

I don't know what I'm doing. I guess I was trying to look sophisicated.

Us girls hanging out in the hot tub. The sky looked so beautiful. You could see the Milky Way so well. We had a conversation how the universe is so big that we can't be the only living things in the universe. It we were that would be a big waste of space.

In the end, I did get to squeeze in a photo of our lovely selves.

My Summer Obsession

This week my sister Melanie took me to Yoasis, a frozen yogurt place right next to Fat Cats in Provo. Oh my gosh, I'm hooked and obssesed with it! It's not like regular frozen yogurt like the sweet kind. This yogurt is tart and tangy and they put fresh fruit on top of it. I've gone twice this week and I'm thinking about going again tomorrow night.

My Fall Plans

After a couple of weeks of waiting, today I got some really good news. This fall I'll be interning at Close to My Heart, a scrapbooking company in Pleasant Grove. I'm so excited because this was the internship I wanted the most out of the other ones! I can't wait to learn, experience, and meet new people. It's such a happy place and I like happy.

Bear Lake with the Killpack's

McKay and I went with his family to Bear Lake this weekend. This time we stayed in this way charming cottage and did some serious boating.

Getting ready to leave!

This is the view of the front of the cottage we stayed in. It had a wrap around deck with picturesque views.

We were greeted by this friendly bear. Encountering a bear is probably one of my greatest fears. On the way home my father in-law Kim got this book about crazy and freaky bear attacks. He got it so he could be prepared before he went to Alaska. We read them on the way home. I've never heard such gruesome stuff in my life!

We just arrived at the cottage!

McKay and I stayed in the fish themed room! I felt like we were dating in college again due to the twin beds.

This was the tub in the bathroom, I loved it so much. It's the kind of tub I want in my future home, so charming!

McKay being weird and pretending to punch the camera.

Me and Sierra!

Jon, Nick, and McKay being crazy on the tube, they were jumping over each other!

There they go again!

We spent some more time on the beach. We decided to do a sand castle contest, this started out as a castle, and then Ann (my mother in-law) and I created this zen garden.

The boys created what they liked to call "Hell," there were a lot of shells in the sand, so they used those to make their castle of doom. They said that the shells represent skulls and all of the dead people they used to create this place of darkness.

Me, Katie, and Sierra on the water weenie, I was being extra daring.

We made Sierra and Katie into mermaids on the beach. Too bad, Katie on the right looks like an amputee (no fins) mermaid.

Seriously every night we went into town and got raspberry shakes. There were really good, but I'm shaked out for a while.

There was this cozy wagon that was at the shake place, so we thought we wait in it for our shakes.

On the way home we went on a hike to Bloomington Lake, it was so beautiful there. McKay looks so good.

A view from the trail.

This is my sister in-law Emily and her cute boyfriend Nick.

Another picture of McKay and I.

In the end the trip was a blast. Probably the most memorable moment was when we were on the boat when the three crazy boys were on the tube. The tube went under the water and I guess from the weight from the three of them and the water the tow/haul bar on the back of the boat ripped off from the back of the boat! Those boys need to lose weight! It was really funny, but kind of a bummer because after that no more water toys! :(
