Blast from the Past

Yesterday while at work, I was really bored. So I borrowed a fashion magazine from the other department so I wouldn't die of boredom. While flipping through the pages of the high end fashion magazine W Magazine, I see this girl on the cover of a Chanel ad.

I look at her and she looks really familiar to me. Then I realized. Oh my gosh, this girl, who is the new face of Chanel use to be my old locker partner in 7th grade! Her name is Heidi Whitworth, she got married so she goes by Heidi Mount. I couldn't believe my eyes. A girl from Centerville, Utah is becoming the most sought after supermodels in high end fashion. I'm just stunned and can't believe that I know this girl. It's just crazy to think that she replaced Chanel's former model Claudia Schiffer.

Way to go Heidi!

Snowshoe Excrusion

Last Monday was President's Day. To celebrate this most joyous day by not having to go to school or work, I went snowshoeing with my sister in-law and mother in-law up Provo Canyon. These two women are nature and health gurus. They did kick my butt, but I was able to keep up for part of the time. It was really fun and I'll tell you what a good butt work out.

Almost V-Day Catastrophe

I don't want to complain, but as I have gotten older I have disliked this holiday more and more. Maybe I'm a woman and have certain high expectations, or maybe I'm a hopless romantic. I could be both. I thought this Valentines was gone to the pooper, but a glimpse of hope came my way.

On Friday night McKay and I have been planning for the past two weeks that we would go to this Institute dance at UVU. They had free dance lessons and a free dinner! McKay and I couldn't pass that up. Plus, the last time McKay showed any interest in dancing was when we were dating. So when he showed somewhat intersted in booty shaking it, I knew this was a once in a lifetime chance. I traded shifts with my nice co-worker so we could go. Well the night before the dance McKay tells me that he has a test he has to study for and take. I felt like all walls came tumbling down, I knew we wouldn't be able to go because his tests take over 3 hours.

So instead of moping about it all day, I took out my frustrating by re-arranging our living room! I've been taking an interior design class and it's opened my eye to design. McKay made me promise him that I wouldn't redecorate our apartment if I took this class, because he knows me better then I know myself. He told me I could only re-arrange stuff because were moving out in May. After 5 hours of moving furniture around, I got it all situated in a way I liked. Afterwards I felt like a tons of bricks were lifted off of my shoulders because our living room had a sense of Feng Shui. I've been really happy with it, it feels a lot more cozier and there's a lot more room to get around.

Valentines comes around and I'm dreading it because the night before was suppose to be our Valentines. I had to work a closing shift that didn't make my spirits anymore happier. Wondering what the heck we were going to do after I got off work. Before closing I call McKay to see and hope that he had plan something. He said that he was driving past the dollar theatre and saw that Twilight was there, he knew I've been wanting to see the movie when it got to the dollar theatre, so he bought two tickets and we saw Twilight. I was worried the entire time that McKay was going to hate every blood thirsty moment in the movie. To my surprise he told me that he really enjoyed the movie because he likes vampires. Normally, McKay would have said heckno to a movie like that. On the way home McKay wanted to philosophy about it and he kept on asking me questions about it. It was so fun to see us both enjoying a movie together. A lot of time we don't agree on what movie we should see. Because McKay was gutsy enough to see this with me, Valentines was again a fun and sweet holiday where you remember why you love someone.

I did like the movie even though I heard both bad and good reviews about it
I never knew McKay liked vampires, I guess you learn something new everyday about the person you are married too.

Daddy's New Job

My Dad got a job offer in Southern California and accepted the position. He will be a private Electrical Engineer contactor for the Navy. Well the deal is that he will live in California 4 days out of the week and then come home on Friday and then go back to Cali on Monday. I'm really excited for him and this great opportunity. I know my family will miss him during the week, but the weekend's will be extra special. I love you Dad, congrats.

K & T Wedding

On Friday my brother in-law finally got married to his girlfriend of over 2 1/2 years. I never thought I would see the day, but I'm glad I did. The cool thing about this is that Katie worked with me at Down East Outfitters when I first moved up to Provo right before McKay and I got engaged. I set up Katie and Taylor up on a blind date, and I'm so happy that they've decided to get married. The wedding was good, it was a long day that started at 7:45 am to midnight. Here are some pictures from it. Katie and Taylor moved into our apartment complex and are going to be in the same ward as us. Were going to be little neighbors. How cute. Congrats Katie & Taylor!

I love Katie's cake topper. If you look at it from the back you can see the bride is pinching the groom's bum. This is so funny and classy!

Tea Anyone?

Ok, this is a weird post, I know. But I have this obsession lately. I want to like tea (yes the caffeine free kind). I want to be one of those ladies who comes home from a long day of work and school, turns down the lights, puts a kettle on the stove to heat the water, and sit on the comfy couch with her tea and read a good book. This sounds real strange. I went to the store to go purchase a good tasting tea. I came home with a tea that has the flavors of fresh berries, spices, lemongrass, and orange peel. Who wouldn't like that? Well the other night I was waiting anxiously for the water to heat so I could enjoy my tea. After I let it brew for a couple of minutes, I took my first sip. After 5 sips I could no longer drink it. It tasted bitter and had an awful after taste! I was so disappointed. Anyone know of some good tasting brew? I'm open to some suggestions.....

I looked like this lady after a couple of sips of my Wild Blackcurrant herbal tea

Wiener Butter Holder

Here is the result of my beautiful piece of art. Last week when Katie and us Killpack girls went to Color Me Mine for her Bachelorette Bash. I thought I would be weird, a little naughty, and have some fun. Like I said, McKay and I needed a butter holder and our butter would always taste like nasty refrigerator. Now this will protect it and keep it safe.

Sweet butter

I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I tried to be dumb and hand paint my damask design.

This will become a family heirloom in the Killpack family. I can just see it my daughters and sons fighting over who gets the wiener butter holder that their mom hand painted.

An Engagement

It has finally happen. My older sister of 24 got engaged last night. I'm so happy and excited for her. She moved to California back in October to be closer to her boyfriend Andrew who is going to medical school down in LA. The wedding will be in June and I'm excited because Caitlin and I are bridesmaids! This time around we can voice our opinion about what we wear and not feel bad. Melanie and Andrew are going to do a carnival themed reception with a photobooth, cotton candy, a tent, and the whole shebang! Congrats the two of you! I heart both of you. Welcome to the family Andrew.

A Suprise Gift from Mom

Last night McKay and I went up to my parents house to hang out and watch the Super Bowl on my parents new TV. It was a lot of fun. Right before we left to go back home to dingy air Provo, my Mom remembered that she bought me something when she went to California last week to help my older sister plan some wedding stuff. I open the sack and this is what I got some sassy Anne Taintor trinkets :

This funny refrigerator magnet

And this feisty compact mirror

I was laughing so hard. My Mom told me about his place in California called Old Orange Town, or something like that where she got these two gifts for me. She said that I would love it because antique and vintage shops line both of the streets of this town. I may say I can't wait to visit there someday.
