After a couple hours of craziness at the "bar" we went back home and I made aebelskievers! If you haven't had these babies they're to die for. Their a Danish pancake, but their really fluffy and they look like a donut hole.

We dipped them in chocolate and maple syrup, jam, and stuffed them with unhealthy good stuff.

Update!

Oh my gosh, it's been a month since I posted. This is very bad, I don't think I've ever gone this long without blogging. I guess with school finals, graduating, moving, and getting a new job sometimes you have to put your passion on the side until live cools down. Here is a list of stuff that has been going on....

Graduation

This blessed day came May 1st. After 4 years of studying, staying up late, getting up early, taking tests, writing papers, and many projects and presentations later I was able to look back and celebrate this great accomplishment. My commencement was at 8 a.m. and was in the McKay Event Center. It was so fun to see all of my fellow classmates who I've gotten to know so well over the past 3 years and all of the good times we had. It was a bittersweet moment because the thought that I might not every see some of these people again. My Mom, Dad, Cameron, McKay, Ann, and Kim came to the ceremony. The ceremony was great. I can't remember what they talked about but I do remember that one of the speakers said that there's been studies and there's proof that college graduates live 7 years longer then people who don't graduate from college and that they live happier and more satisfying lives. Yoorah!

President Monson was the speaker for the Convocation right after my Commencement. I feel like I'm going to hell for doing this but by the time my Commencement was over I was so tired, hungry and just wanted to party so instead of staying and listening to the prophet I texted my family saying, "Can we go to Cracker Barrel instead of staying for Convocation? I'm really hungry." We drove over to the Barrel and had so much fun looking at the fun gift shop and eating yummy home style cooking.

For Graduation I got a sewing machine and a new camera!

My in-laws and my family had to leave right after so I went home and took a 3 hour nap and then McKay and I spent time with the river, fish, and the good outdoors.

Family Roots

All of my life I have wondered who in the world do I look like in my family? I know I have similar facial features from my Mother and my Dad's face shape. But I could never figure out whose body I have. My Mom is very curvy and my sisters have what we like to call in our family a "Nene bum" and they have a very different shape than me. It seemed like it was a family mystery all of these years because physically I didn't look like anyone in my immediate family. One day my Dad told me that he was looking through some old photos at my Grandparents house and came across one of my Great Grandmother Amelia "Millie" Hadfield Craig, my Dad's Grandmother. He said that I was a spitting image of her. He sent me the picture and I think I found where most of my physical traits came from.

This picture doesn't do must justice, but as I zoomed in on her I found a very familiar smirk on her face, because I do the same kind of facial expressions. I don't know much about her, but this makes me want to become a Geneology Guru, so nerdy, but I find this so interesting how traits can skip a generation and can show up in another. Genetics is so interesting, maybe that is why I was wanting to go into that field until I took Chemistry and my hopes and dreams of becoming a geneticist was over.

Update on Life

I'm so sorry blog, I've neglected you too long. Life has been pretty crazy. I haven't had time to call back friends who've been wanting to get together and play. I'm sorry (Amber) please forgive me. With school coming to an end, finals, plans of moving, and starting a new job I found it hard to sit down and write about it.

For any of you who haven't heard, I found out two weeks ago I got the job at Utah Valley Radiology Associates! I feel truly blessed to be able to have a job in line before graduating. Especially when people are losing their jobs right and left due to the economy. I start full time right after graduation. I put my two weeks in at Nordstroms. I'm going to miss having my discount and working with the great people there, and being an activist for wearing the correct bra size, but I won't miss working weekends, nights, and every holiday ever again. My last day there is the 29th.

McKay and I decided to move to Orem because I got a full time job and also we wanted to live in a more classy neighborhood. Apartment hunting was the biggest pain! We looked at apartments that were $200 more than what were paying now and they were in worst condition and didn't have any the amenities that we wanted. We were al most ready to quit and stay in our current apartment when McKay saw this ad for a basement apartment a couple of blocks away from his parents house. We went and took a look at it and we absolutely loved it! It's in a nice family oriented neighborhood, the tenants who own the house are so nice, the apartment was very very nice and it came with a washer and dryer! It's a little smaller than our current apartment but I like the idea of living more simple and am excited to decluttering our current apartment to fit into our new apartment. We got such a good deal with this apartment we'll be saving a lot of money every month. We're sad to say good bye to our ward and Katie & Taylor (who live right next door) b ut we've been here for 2 1/2 years and we feel lik e we need a change. We move May 11th.

McKay and I got called to be Temple workers in the Provo Temple. I was so excited because I love going to the temple and think this is going to be a great experience for McKay and I to work together. I got to meet President Merrill Bateman and he was a delight to meet. This will be a great blessing in our lives.

Graduation is May 1st and I'm very excited. I'm going to miss school no doubt, especially all of the people, the social atmosphere and learning. But I'm excited to be able to focus on one thing now. McKay has one year left and he's debating whether he is going to get his Masters and where.

22 and Cholesterol

Yesterday I got some disturbing news. Last week I went to the Dr to get a yearly check up, pap smear, and some blood work done. I get a phone call from the Dr and he told me that everything is fine but he said that my Cholesterol was extremely high. Healthy is 200 and under, I was at 222! I was so upset! I can't believe at the young age of 22 you can have high cholesterol, I thought only old people got this. He told me because my family has a history of high blood pressure and cholesterol that it's most likely due to genetics. As soon as I had a free moment I went onto WebMD to find as much information about it. This freaks me out because I do eat relatively healthy, I exercise regularly, and I'm not overweight. This had opened my eyes that life is too short and I want to make sure I take care of this so I don't get short changed any years off of my life!
