Wadamee and Andrew come!

My sister Melanie and her boyfriend came up from California to hang out with us for a week. McKay and I drove back up to Centerville to spend quality time with the family.  We went over to my Grandma and Grandpa Craig's house where we had a dinner with my cousins, Aunt's, and Uncle's.  We opened presents and had a jolly old time.

McKay and I slept over where the next morning we decided due to all of our crapy eating habits during the holiday we would go play basketball to burn off some extra calories.  We grabbed our ipod, speakers, and basketball and headed over to the church to get our game on.

My Dad kicked butt, he made a ton of points!

We ended up losing to Melanie, Andrew, and Caitlin.  I think McKay was upset that I didn't put my 100% effort into the game.  I'm sorry!

After our aggressive game of basketball we went kitty shopping at the Davis County Animal Shelter.  A couple of months ago our beloved cat died, and we've been longing for another one.  Going to the animal shelter made me realize how much I want a kitty.  My Aunt Caroline calls having a kitty in your home a, "Kitty Spirit."  I told McKay as soon as we move out of our apartment in the spring, the first thing I want is a kitty spirit.

Happy 2nd Anniversary

It's official. McKay and I celebrated our second year of bliss together. To celebrate this momentous day in our lives we spent a night at Blue Boar Inn in Midway. We've been waiting for this day all month. We started out by going snowmobiling up by Daniel's Summit. I've had bad past experiences with snowmobiles where I've fallen off and tipped over. A bunch of times I've screamed at McKay to slow down because we were becoming engulfed in powder and were about to tip over. McKay was a sweetheart and slowed down.

After a couple of hours in the freezing cold, we checked in at the Inn. The Blue Boar Inn is so beautiful, elegant, and has a very European feel to it. We stayed in the girly Emily Dickinson room. With it's soft ambient colors, the warmth of the fireplace, and the sense of relaxation was just what McKay and I needed.

We ate at one of the restaurants we went to on our Honeymoon and enjoyed a steak dinner.

After we drove around Midway to look at other potential places to stay for next year's Anniversary.

We had a romantic night with our Fiji waters and our over sized terry cloth robes. This included a lot of rest and relaxation in front of the fireplace to the point that my back felt like it was melting off.

The next morning we enjoyed a five course Sunday Brunch where I had steak and McKay had the Mediterranean omelet. McKay and I felt so pampered in a luxe way. I enjoyed living the way the rich and famous do for a night. Too bad we couldn't live like this for a period of time.

What a beautiful Christmas tree

This was our most favorite part of our entire break. Were so excited and look forward to next year to celebrate our 3rd Anniversary!

It's Christmas Time in the Suburb!

I know it's kind of late, but Merry Christmas everyone! McKay and I have been really busy with work, Christmas, and family activities. If you want to know our Christmas was fabulous in every way. For Christmas Eve we spent it with the Killpack's where we ate a lot of good food, opened presents, watched an intense balloon fight between siblings, and enjoyed a ping pong tournament.

My Brother In-Law's Fiancee opens her gifts. Congrats to Taylor and Katie for getting engaged over Christmas!

McKay got his back-up drive and his Hello Panda candies from Japan.

Emily got her black sports bra. She's getting a supportive Christmas.

Jon got his toiletries bag for his mission.

I got McKay a 6 X 8 ft sleeping bag. It was so awesome we could fit the entire family!

More pictures of the family in the bag.

The whole entire family

Early Christmas morning we drove up to Centerville to be with the Craig's. Melanie, my older sister was still down in California, so it felt kind of weird not having her be there, but we did have a great time spending quality time with my family.

Hooray! I got the hat I wanted off of Etsy!
Oh Christmas tree

My Mom got me a Leg Lamp and a Leg Lamp bobble head from A Christmas Story. Tacky Christmas decorations, I heart it!

My Dad made us go on a GPS Scavenger Hunt to find our presents. Here is me with my new cute hat finding clues to find our presents.

During our Scavenger Hunt, we went I to my Grandparents house where I reminisced about things that reminded me of Christmas. Here is one of them. This is over 60 years old and is from Japan. My Grandparents would hang it up every Christmas. You wind up this toy and it twirls. There's pictures of me as a little girl starring in amazement of this antique toy.

The second object is this handmade scary/cute elf doll. I love it's grin, it kind of looks like a 90 year old lady, but it has so much charm that it's ugliness is overlooked by it's cuteness.

McKay finally found his gift back at my parents house and he found this TV! He was so happy and so surprised. I told McKay, "I think my parents like you the most out of anyone else in the family."

Overall McKay and I felt very spoiled this Christmas. It made me realize even more that we're blessed in every way. Thank you Mom & Dad and the Killpack's for an amazing Christmas. We heart you.

I Have A Life Again!

As of today, Thursday December 18th, 2008 I'm done with school for the year! This past weeks have been hellish, but I can't believe I've gotten through it with all of myself intact. I've spent every night since Thanksgiving working on papers, presentations, and finals. Where did December go? It flew by so fast and next week is Christmas.
Here is a recap of what's been going on in our lives these past few weeks.
McKay and I have been excited all year for his work party at Chef's Table. It was last week and boy it was heaven. Everything is so good, fresh, and you can taste the quality!

We've been spending long hours on our butt studying, listening to Christmas music. My new favorite Christmas album is Sarah Mclachlan's Wintersong. It's a fresh take on traditional Christmas songs. I highly recommend it.

This last Friday night was our ward's Christmas party which we're in charge of. With the help of our fabulous committee we were able to pull off a party of 200 people where a couple in our ward catered the most of the food themselves.

Liz, my dear friend couldn't wait to give me her Christmas gift. I was so excited because she got me a planner! It's not just any planner it's a Anne Taintor Planner. If you don't know who she is, she's a artist who likes to use vintage images and put sarcastic and crude sayings on them. I love her work because it's different and I get a kick out of it. Here are some samples of her art:

These are just a few of my fav's.

Tomorrow is my last day being an intern for Close To My Heart. It's been a fun 3 1/2 months were I've gotten to know a lot of the employees and will miss them dearly. I'll miss all of the snacks and treats people bring there. They told me to expect to gain a few pounds. Probably the biggest assignment I had to do was organize the entire prop room. This room is a haven for everyone's stuff in the company. It hasn't been organized for at lease 5 years. I'm proud to say that it looks beautiful now. A couple of days ago while at my internship we got an e-mail from the warehouse saying that they have some product that they were going to give away. I went down there thinking that there would be a couple of boxes of free stuff. To my surprise there were hundreds of boxes of free scrapbooking materials! Everyone was going nuts! I've never seen grown men go crazy after scrapbooking materials. I had so much adrenaline I was sweating. After it all I brought home a huge box of paper, stamps, ink, embellishments, card kits, albums, and much more. What a good day that was.

Here are some goofy pictures of me while working at Close To My Heart. You can tell we had some good times.

I'm going to miss everyone there. They treated me so well! Thanks Close To My Heart!

Holy Camel!

McKay and my life have been so stressful these past week that I haven't been able to even think about my precious blog. Some exciting things did happen this week. Here is a recap on them.

My internship at Close To My Heart had their Christmas party at Thanksgiving point. We enjoyed really good food, fun entertainment, and there was an array of prizes given away like flat screen TVs. I had my fingers crossed the entire time hoping that we would win one. We didn't. :( That's OK, because the dinner was free and so was the entertainment. He was so funny. I don't remember his name but he was an impersonator and he did some rad acts.

This weekend McKay had to drive all the way down to Fairview to do an install. On the way home he thought he would stop be the nearest river and fish. Because McKay loves fish and fishing more than anything else. I came home from a long and busy day at work and saw him doing this.

McKay found some nearly frozen guppies barely surviving in the river, so he took his Maverick gallon jug filled them up in it and brought them home so we could have some pets. He was so fascinated by them, he sat there and stared at them for 15 minutes. He thinks they are salmon. Yum!

This is one of the reasons why I love my husband because he always surprises me with his child-like passions he has, like fish. He looked like a 4 year old little boy so excited he caught something.

He later put in some rocks he found outside to give them a more "homey" feel. I'm sad to say that the majority of them have died. We gave them a quiet yet respectable funeral down our toilet. McKay was kind of sad that they've been dying off so fast. But he said they probably would have died if he didn't save them from the frozen grips of death.

Our good friends Megan and Chad came down and visited us. We ate at our favorite Indian restaurant. We were walking down Center-Street in Provo looking at the festive candy windows and we saw this.

It's a FREAKIN CAMEL!

I guess someone was having a Nativity Petting Zoo on the lawn of the Provo Tabernacle. Look at all of it's glory!

Chad and McKay had to get in of the action too!

They also had a pen of strange looking animals, but I couldn't resist not to take pictures of them!

A hairy midget donkey

This is some kind of lamb, you can barley tell it's his face. Look closely you can see it's eye.

This was probably the most random thing I've experienced in a while. It felt good to experience something spontaneous and random. I love that.
