Bear Lake Fun with the Hill's, Poulson's, and Followell's

This last weekend we had the great opportunity to go to Bear Lake with our dear friends Amber and Tage Hill. Amber and I went to high school together and have remained real close ever since. She got married two months after graduating from high school. They have a baby named Davis and he is such a doll! We drove up with them and met up with another couple from Wyoming. Lyndsay and Nolan Followell are Tage's good friends from high school too! Then Amber's friends Nolan and Janica Poulson came too. It was crazy having two Nolan's in the same camp! It was real fun to meet new people and catch up with old friends. We stayed for the weekend and found a camping spot in the mountains and didn't have to pay anything! We went to the beach for the day and got raspberry shakes. The Killpack's are going up there in a couple weeks and it will be good to go boating on the lake.

My New Mod Podge Obsession

For a while I've been wanting to Mod Podge something. Whenever I go to Forever 21 I see those funky Mod Podge heads and think to myself, I want to do that. So the other day I went to the scrapbooking store got some eclectic looking paper and some Mod Podge. I decided that my light switch plates need some more pizazz, so I Mod Podge them! They look so cute and it was so cheap. Every light switch plate is different and I love them so much. It's so easy, all yal should come over and check them out.

Diamond Fork Campout!

This weekend McKay and I and our good friends the Zollinger's went camping up Diamond Fork Canyon (up Spanish Fork Canyon). We has a great time. Probably the most memorable part was that at 12 am we were sitting around the campfire and I thought it would be so

fun to go up to the hot pots that were just up the canyon because Bryant and Liz have

never been to them and plus the moon was high and full.

It would be a beautiful night to go. So we did!

We packed our swimsuits and hiked the two mile hike up to the pots. McKay and I with some friends of ours went to these hot pots before we got married and we saw a lot of naked hippie people up there, so I was getting anxious to see what kind of crazy people would be up there this time. When we finally got to the pots there were a bunch of high school kids smoking a bong that lite up. The funny thing is that I had no idea what a bong looked like because growing up in Centerville I never saw drug paraphernalia before. It was a learning experience for me.

It was so relaxing sitting in the hot hot hot pots. Although it does smell like sulfur it's worth the hike. Soon after arriving the other pot smoking kiddies left so we had the entire place to ourselves! We got back to our tents at around 3 am! We were exhausted and slept until 11. We made an awesome breakfast and then we went swimming in nearby river. This was a good weekend. It made me distress from work.

No ZZZZZZ's Tonight

It's 5:04 a.m. on Friday morning. You're probably wondering why I'm on the computer and not in bed sleeping. This past week and a half has been very stressful at work. If you're familiar with Nordstroms and their biggest sale of the year called the Anniversary Sale then you know it's a pretty big deal to shopoholics. Last night I had to go into work to help setup for the sale for a couple of hours. Being there and seeing all of the merchandise I realize that these next two weeks are going to be crazy busy. The crappy thing was I had to be at work in 7 hours from 10 p.m. As soon as I got home I took a menintonin so I could fall asleep fast and stay asleep. Around 3 a.m. I wake up from this chaotic dream that I'm at work and I'm bombarded by customers, trying to please their needs, stressing, and not being able to get anything done. I wake up from this dream and I can't fall back to sleep. McKay is also having a hard time falling asleep. I was surprised to see him awake, but of course he ends up falling asleep and I don't. So I thought I'd get up and get some things done like: finish putting together Jessica's bridal shower invitations, eat two bowls of cereal that I've never tried before, stole the cup of water McKay sets asides when he goes to bed, and I'm actually thinking about applying for some internships for the fall. I have to be to work in a hour and a half and hopefully I'll be able to get through it. I feel that the Anniversary Sale can cause major trauma and stress to employees due to all of the expectations and the desire and longing to have a good paycheck. But is it really worth it to feel so overwhelmed, stressed, and being sleep deprived? I think not, but we'll see how it with only three hours of sleep.

FHE with a Costa Rican Twist

Normally McKay and I don't have an official FHE because I either work, or we lack motivation to do one. But this last Monday was different. We decided that we would go longboarding down the Provo Parkway Trail. I'm so scared of going fast on longboards so we picked a nice flat spot so I could enjoy the ride. It was fun going down the trail and seeing all of these families together taking a walk. On our way back the most unexpected thing happened. McKay ran into his old land lords from his mission in Costa Rica. The husband's name is Francisco and he invited McKay and I to go over to their apartment so McKay could say hello to his wife Cecilia. At first Cecilia didn't recognize McKay, but all of a sudden she shouted "Killpack!" They were so excited to see McKay. You could tell the love that they have for him. We stayed over for about 45 mins. Of course I don't speak a lick of Spanish so I couldn't understand anything they so McKay was nice enough to translate for me. They invited us to come over whenever we wished and we promised to have a BBQ with them. The crazy thing is that they live down the street from our apartment!

Ever since Monday I've been on a quest to learn Spanish. All of our neighbors don't speak English and I hope this next summer McKay and I with some friends will be able to go to Costa Rica, and I desperately want to learn Spanish. After our meeting with Francisco and Cecilia we went over to McKay's parents house to say hello. I told everyone how I want to learn Spanish and my mother in-law being a teacher pulled out this booklet that read "Learn Spanish in a Week!" It has colorful illustrations and it comes with a CD! This week I've been listening to it in my car. I can officially say three sayings. I'll have to update on how my Spanish learning is coming.

Cascade Springs Scooter Ride

I love Sunday's because it's all about rest and relaxation. This Sunday we spice things up a bit and decided that we would go on an adventure. We had our friends Bryant and Liz come with us on their scooter and us on McKay's motorcycle and we drove up Provo Canyon, through Sundance, over to Cascade Springs, and then came out of American Fork Canyon. It was a four hour ride, my butt suffered, but in all it was a blast. It was a fuel efficent way to sight seeing and I felt like a true biker. Next time we need to wear our black leather and then we'll be official bikers!

Park City with the Killpack's

We had the great opportunity to go up to Park City and spend a week at a timeshare that my in-laws were given to from a friend. The entire family went up there and when that happens there is a lot of adventures that happen. The first day we were there we decided to go to the Park City Olympic Park, where you can see the skiiers go off jumps and land in the water. McKay and I were being cheap and didn't want to spend the $30 dollars to see the show, so we walked around the museum they had. We took this lovely photo, I look like an official skiier.

After looking around for a while we found this door that went outside to the ski jump show. We thought we do some exploring and we got to see the last 10 mins of the show. I know this isn't the most honest thing, but come on were poor college students.

We got to squeeze in some shopping too!

McKay is waiting for a massage.

After shopping we came back to our condo and ate dinner and relaxed.

This our lovely condo! So charming!

Isn't this house so cute, I love the colors!

To end the night right we all had a soak in the hot tub.

Gateway Fun with Megano & Erin

Monday was Megano's 21st Birthday, she is my dear friend and ex roomate from SUU. To celebrate this momentous day in her life Erin and I decided to take her to the Gateway, where the fun never ends. We ended up shopping, which felt so good to finally do so. We found a lot of great deals that I snagged. My Mom and my Grandma were going to get some lunch at Thaiphoon, a restaurant there. We thought that we'd join them. The food was pretty darn good. To top off the hot afternoon we jumped into the fountains! It was wild. Too wild actually. There was this weird man that kept pressuring us to let him take a picture of us. In the process of that he almost stole our purses! Erin screamed at him not to touch our things. That was a weird and awkward moment. We heart you Megano! Happy 21st Birthday!

Update on The Killpack's 4th of July!

Well.... Our 4th of July was full fun, but we did too much! The night before the 4th we went up to my parents house in Centerville to see my family and go to the C-Ville parade.

After th parade McKay and I had to leave because I had to work for four hours, very lame. After I got off of work we went to Grandma and Grandpa Killpack's house where the whole family was there having a BBQ and going to watch the fireworks from the balcony. My family came down and were invited to come to the Killpack gathering. We had to leave soon after arriving if we were going to get to the show. I hopped onto McKay's motorcycle and we parked real close to the stadium. While we were trying to find our seats we saw my cousin Jessica! That was a big suprise. We started to make the big climb to our seats. Much to our suprise our seats were the last bench of farthest away bleacher. Probably the coolest thing was the skydivers that landed inside the stadium. Blue Man Group was real good, I would see them again in Vegas. I wish we could of seen them better.

Now the downlow on Miley..... I wasn't too impressed. She only sang one song that anyone knew and I felt that she wasn't too thrilled to be spending her 4th in Utah. The fireworks were awesome. Especially when they are over you like that. My family slept over at our little apartment and in the morning we went and got breakfast at Magleby's Fresh, yum. Overall our holiday was a good one, next year it's going to be all about rest and relaxation.
